This week we had to present our speeches, I wrote my speech on Why i think Motorsport is cool.I think i did well on looking up to everone and smiling and talking loud.I think i could inprove on learning my speech of by heart. I really  enjoyed listning to other peoples speechs. If i was to do another speech i would learn  it of my heart and hook in the people listning. 

Te Reo Moari ( Beach animation )

This week is Te Reo Maori week. We had to make an animation and we had to have Maori words and animals and things like that. We had places where we could do it. We could go to the beach,Playground,Forest,city and farms and we chose the beach we are using Google Slides to present our animation. We had to name 12 things that you would see in that place and write the name and the maori name as well. Today this blog post is about our e-pet from technology and we had to create a e-oet which is a pet that we make out of cardboard and other things and then we have to code a micro-bit thing that makes sounds if you do something to it hope you like this blog post 

Pollution in our river and lakes

this week we have been learning about water and we had to make three posters about water and then after that we had to make a letter to go to Poto Williams about how we can fix pollution and everything else like that and then we sent it to our teachers so we can send it to Poto Williams and then hopefully she will be able to get people that will help us save our animals in the oceans and river and lakes

STEAM - Making tables

Today this blog post is about STEAM and we were making a table and in my team I had Francheska,Caprice,Riley and pippa and i thought we worked really well and our table was super good but we had to types of tables the first one only was able to hold 2 books and the second table we made out of the same things was able to hild 10 books and a macbook here is our to tables

Tommo's Father's death

Today this post is about Private peaceful we have been readiong this in reading and writig and I think it is pretty interesting and I  recomened you read it and there is a movie 

In writing and reading we ahd to make an animation about tommo and his father in my animation tommo's father dies because he was squashed by a tree and if you want to know more about it watch my animation 

Here is a story we had to make:

I need to get this tree down it's really hard the tree is so heavy it is hard work here it goes the tree starts to fall when i look up to see where Tommo is he was standing at the end of the tree on the other side and all i could was tommo was standing there still and i had know choose but to run and try and get tommo out of the way of the falling tree after i got to tommo i quickly pushed him out the way but 1min later all i could see was darkness.

Māori New Year- Matariki

Through out these last 2 weeks we have been making matariki star prints.

The steps we had to do were: Make a draft on a piece of paper, But we had to show our teacher before we could get our a4 peice of foam once we got our foam we had to use a pen and draw our draft disgn on to it and what to make sure that you dented the foam because if there is no dent in the foam the ink will not show your design because the next step we had to choose a colour of ink that you would like to put on your foam I chose purple and blue then you had to put it on a peice of paper that you had to push down with a roller then you had to slowley remove the foam from your paper

My amazing Robot

Today in maths we had to make a robot made out of shapes and then our teacher would print them off and we we had to measure the angles and the angles that we have to measure are ( Acute, Obtuse, reflex) here is a picture of my robot with the measurements on it

Science experiment

In the morning at shool we had to do this science experiment and we had to make a parachute and the only thing we could use was: 

• 3 sheets of A4 photocopy paper

• A plastic bag

• 1m of string

• 1 sheet of A5 thin card

• Cellotape

• Scissors

• Paper to sketch design on

And those are the only things we are a loud to use and we were able to use everything but we didn't use one piece of paper but here is our disign:

In litracey we are learning how to structure a paragraph, We are using T.E.X.A.S. The T in texas is for topic the E is for expand or explain  the X is for examples the A is for Analysis, and the S is for summerising 

Today in litracey we made a burger. This burger is representing how to write or structure a good paragraph. It shows that there are sections to a paragraph.

Amazing angles

For numeracy today, we have started to learn about angles.  

We learnt about 3 different angles today - acute (less than 90°), right angle (90°), and obtuse (larger than 90° but smaller than 180°).  We also learnt how to use a protractor to measure angles.  We know that we need to measure an angle from a vertice (a corner where two straight lines meet).

For our create task, we had to measure three different angles on the first letter of our name - can you  figure out if they are acute, right angle or obtuse?

Holes (Stanley yelnats)

In reading we are reading abook called holes it is about stanley yelnats his last name can be read forward and backwards 

The story so far 

• Stanley was sent to camp green lake for a crime he did not commit he was accused of stealing from a famous sports person.
•  At Camp Green Lake he has to dig one hole a day 5ft wide 5ft deep.
•  Camp Green Lake is a dry wasteland in the middle of nowhere, it is very hot. 
• Stanley is from a poor family, He is overweight, At school he got bullied. 
• Stanley's family is cursed. He is always seems to be in the wrong place at the wrong time
